There are four reasons why we refund items on an order (or the order entirely in some cases).
- The item was canceled, delayed indefinitely, or released only as a digital copy by the publisher. If the item is re-released by the publisher we will put it back up for sale at a later date and you are welcome to order it again if you are interested.
- The item was from old stock (2019-2017) and was not meant to be put back up for sale. When we launched our app, it put a majority of our old stock back up for sale by mistake. If we are unable to find the item you ordered in our warehouse we will refund the item.
- The item is out of stock due to a shipment from our distributor being damaged or the cover being allocated. Distributors will occasionally receive more orders than they are able to fulfill and will select how many items each store will receive. We can not control when this happens. Even if we order 500 copies of a book, if the item is allocated we may only receive 200 copies depending on how many other stores have ordered this item.
- The item was delayed or changed by the publisher and will be available for re-order at a later date likely with updated information. When this happens we typically write the reason on the packing slip to let you know but you may get a refund notification before you receive your package. If the item is passed FOC then we will likely move it to a new order (you'll receive an order confirmation with a custom discount of $0 and a new date listed at the end of the product title)
When this happens, you may receive a refund notification for a single item, multiple items, or the entire order plus the shipping fee. We will not refund shipping if there are items in your order that have not been refunded. If your order was over $100 and you received free shipping but the refund has put that order under $100 we will not charge you for shipping.
